Things at the Hooverhouse

Perhaps it's been awhile since I've updated my blog, I've been neglectful, shame on me!

Well things are going swimmingly! Kassie is living in Maryland with her boyfriend Jacob for the last year or so now and doing fine. She wants to move back to Cali and her boyfriend is trying to see about transferring out here after he has a year on with the force. Can't wait for that to happen, we really need her closer to home.

Brittany is living at home now and is really trying to get her life together. She has come a long way from where she was, I just wish she would change her circle of friends, but she's 20 now so what can I do??? She's somewhat looking for a job but is very helpful around the house and has changed a lot over the last 9 months, I'm proud of her!

Daniel is growing up so fast! This year he played on a summer league softball team and really enjoyed it and it taught him a lot about working as a team. Then in the fall he played flag football and enjoyed that even more! He was the quarterback for the team and learned so much about the game, he was even nominated for All Stars, but another teams quarterback got the spot, good thing though at least for me anyway I didn't have to drive him all over God's creation to pratice's and game's!!! LOL!! But I would of done it you know how us mom's are : )

As for Kim and I.....well we are so in love it's pathetic!! LOL!!!! Even after 27 years, can you beleive that! Well this Oct/Nov Kim had the Swine "H1N1" Flu, it was horrible!!! He was sick for 5 weeks! He missed 2 1/2 weeks of work! I'm sooooo glad he's better, he really scared me. I thought I might lose him, it was really awful. As for me on November 29th I celebrated my 2 year birthday for being "Clean and Sober"!! That was such a sobering moment, no pun intended. Just to think where I was two years ago on that day.....a part of my life I NEVER want to relive. All the glory goes to Jesus!

In june we went to Vegas for Dad's 80th birthday party at Circus Circus for 3 days, it was great! So many family and old friends were there it was like a family reunion too! I did notice, now that I don't drink, how stupid people can be when they do drink! Well when they drink too much anyway...my little step sister took the Golden Globe for that one and made a jackass out of herself and embarrased the family but mostly herself, that was sad.....but entertaining at the same time, lol.

We did alot of weekends at the lake house this summer until Daniel started football, all the games were on Saturdays, oh well we gotta make a trip out there soon and pick up the boat for the winter and put it in the garage here. It seems it's hard getting Kim to go out there but once he's there he doesn't want to come home....it's a double edged sword.

Well we lost a really great friend in August 2009 in a horrible car accident, Ashley Taylor Watson. She grew up with our girls from the time they were in grade school and our families have been friends that long too. We have Havasu houses in the same neighborhood and we go boating togeher in the summer, she was only 21 and was only married to Tommy Watson for almost two years. My girls really took it hard and have had trouble bouncing back from this tragedy. Ashley Watson forever loved and forever missed. Her parents and our friends, Ben & Tammy Taylor will be in our prayers forever.

Well it Christmas time now and I've been perparing for months for the "Big Day". Today I finally finished all the gift wrapping, wow what a task that was, geez our families are big now!! I hope everyone gets what they wanted....I try : ) Kassie will be home for Christmas she flys in Thursday the 17th and I can't wait!! We will spend Christmas with my Mom and Dad on the 24th for a dinner I will cook at her house and then Christmas morning at home with the kids and then the afternoon with Kims family and my Dad and stepmom. It's always such a great time with everyone but we should nerver lose sight of the real meaning of Christmas. A great sacrafice was made for us and we should always be thankful for that.

With this year coming to a close I look back and can only smile with joy even through all the tribulation, I am so thankful for my family, my friends and my Jesus! Bless you all and have a very Mery Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Love and Blessings from the Hoovers

Have you ever noticed life throws you a curve ball just when you think you've figured it all out?? I love my kids but sometimes they just make me crazy!!! We are all doing better....somewhat, lol! What are we going to do about this economy it's so bizarre. I'm scared to see what has to happen for it even to get better! Thank goodness uncle Sam saw fit to pay us back all our overpayment from last year, every little bit helps. I finally get to drive my F450 again, it has been parked for the last 3 months cuz it needs 6 tires and a rear rotor. It's all about money, man I'm tired of it!!!

I got two new tattoos, I like them, I'll put up some pictures so you can see them.

We're gonna be going to Vegas for my Dad's 80th birthday party at the end of May and first of June, can't wait for that!!! But I really can't believe he's turning 80!! Then in August we are going to Montana for a 3 week vacation to visit my parents at their summer home, can't wait for that either!

I've been on Facebook finding a lot of my old high school friends, it's really been fun! I even found an old boyfriend, he turned out to be pretty cool.

We were ushers at church this last month for the first time, we are so blessed to have such an awesome church family. We like being involved there, we usher, go to group meetings on Monday's, I go to ladies bible study on Tuesday's, Wednesday's night is regular bible study, every other Thursday's is couples study and Sunday's is church, whew!

Anyway that's an update of us, what have you been doing??

Well Christmas was a blast this year! We got to spend time with everyone it was so great! I'd say the kids did pretty well in the Santa department considering the state of things with us. The girls got allot of the necessity items along with clothes. Daniel on the other hand got lots of toys, he was very stoked! And of course Santa was good to Kim and I too, Kim got the "Dodge Challenger" he's been wanting (only in a model scale version)!!! Me I got some jewelry and Tinkerbell trinkets. Kass and Jake got me a "Christmas Bear" from build a bear, it is so cute!! My Mom & Dad got me the Hamilton Beach Brew Station (Coffee Maker) I'd been wanting, yay!!! Here are some pictures of our wonderful Christmas, enjoy cuz we sure did!

Christmas 2008

Well it's getting to be that time of year, which I just love! Christmas, Santa, Family and Presents! Today it snowed here for the first time in I don't know how long! Brittany said that this was only the second time it has snowed in her lifetime and the last time it snowed she was like 4 so yeah..... I drove out in it today to go take Daniel to school and to go to Yucca to Wallmart. The roads were hairy and scary! They closed the main grade into town so there is allot of cars backed up along the highway. Oh well I've been inside baking all day and enjoying the snow The house is all decorated, the tree is up and the Christmas candles are burning away! All the presents have been bought and wrapped except for my great nephew Seth, not sure what to get him, probably clothes.

Kassie is coming in a week, I can't wait!!!! She will be here for 6 days this time but her and Jake are planning to come out for about 2 weeks around March, they will drive it rather than fly. It will be so nice to have her home for Christmas, I miss her soooooooooooo much!

Well that's all for now, here are some pictures I took today of the snow, enjoy them cuz I sure did!

November 22, 2008

Today we had Daniel's 10th birthday party at the bowling alley. Drew, Brandon, Mariah, Gilbert, Charday and Nana & Pap Pap were all there. We usually have more but everyone was busy doing their thing, but that's ok he still had a great time! He had a dirt bike cake, got lots of clothes and a few toys. He really needed the clothes, he grew out of all his pants from last winter! He's getting wider not taller, lol!

October 11th, 2008

We renewed our wedding vows after 26 years of marriage. It was the most amazing ceremony, Pastor Jerel officiated, which was wonderful, I truly admire that man. We lit the Unity Candle, took Communion and exchanged rings. I tell ya this wedding was better than the first! I think it meant so much more to me because I'm older. Sabrina Bennett did my makeup that day and Sharon Hawkins did my hair, I felt like a princess! Almost all our family & friends were there to share in this memorable event. The song they played as we walked down the isle was "Because you loved me" by Celine Dion. I picked out all the music and arranged the whole event, all in all I think I did a pretty good job, it went off without a hitch! Here's to another 26 years, so we can do it again!! LOL!!
